The highly rated Trophy Score big game scoring application for the iPhone has an update pending in the iTunes Store with a bunch of new features, most highly anticipated being gross scoring for deer.
“It’s something our customers have asked for since Day 1 and we appreciate their patience. Trophy Score built a reputation on being the most refined scoring app for the iPhone and is the only one approved by both SCI and Boone & Crockett so we wanted to do gross scoring right. I believe we did,” said developer Chip Hunnicutt.
Because Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young recognize only the net score for world records, it was important to not simply swap out net for gross, but to include both scores. Not only are both scores calculated, but both are synced to AnchorpointOutdoors.com, home of the world’s only no-minimum record book for big game. Trophy Score users visit the site and register a free account, plug the credentials into the Trophy Score settings and each trophy is added to the record book upon synchronizing. This 17-point buck began showing up in this backyard three years ago and the homeowner (heard in the video) kept him well fed, so much so he has become a regular visitor. It’s shaping up to be an epic opening day and from the looks of the 8-point, next year isn’t looking so bad either!
A second congratulations to Darren Dillard of Columbia, South Carolina on this huge Palmetto State buck! Harvested last fall, he recently got it back from the taxidermist and it looks fantastic. Now if the missus will let him hang it in living room….
UPDATE: Darren shot this buck in Orangeburg, SC on his brother-in-law’s farm. It had a 16-inch inside spread and scored 125 B&C.
Don’t have any other info because we couldn’t find him until a week after I shot him. Tracked him for two straight days and just lost him in some thick stuff. Buzzards got him and my brother-in-law found him just 20 yards from where we stopped looking.
