North Brunswick Magazine recently published its Spring 2010 edition and included a full-page article on Trophy Score. Brunswick County, North Carolina is among the fastest growing counties in the state and the northern part of the county continues to boom even with the housing slowdown. Located just across the Cape Fear River from Wilmington, it has become attractive to retirees and new residents for its proximity to the Port City and its vibrant downtown as well as the outstanding beaches of Bald Head Island and Oak Island. NBM has found a great niche and each issue is hotly anticipated.
The article focuses on the idea behind Trophy Score, the basic concept and the appeal to hunters through the relationship with Anchorpoint Trophy Room and what’s next: Trophy Score Fishing. Being a coastal area, there’s already a lot of excitement about the next app in the Trophy Score line.

LELAND, NC – Trophy Score, an iPhone and iPod Touch application for scoring big game animals, is the first mobile application to be approved by Safari Club International. Trophy Score is available worldwide in the iTunes App Store for $2.99 (US) and through the use of official SCI methods and diagrams, assists hunters through the process of scoring aoudad, cape buffalo, six subspecies of caribou, four subspecies of eland, kudu, pronghorn antelope and four subspecies of turkey. Once scored, trophies are synchronized to the world’s only no-minimum record book at AnchorpointOutdoors.com.
“Not every hunter will get a world record, but their personal best may be pretty darn good,” says Trophy Score developer and Doubletough Ventures, Inc. President Chip Hunnicutt. Trophy Score is the top-rated iPhone application for scoring big game using methods for scoring according to Boone and Crockett, Pope and Young and SCI. Once a method is selected, the hunter then chooses a species to score. In addition to the species available through the SCI scoring method, hunters may also score typical and non-typical elk, whitetail and mule deer, four subspecies of bear, and three subspecies of moose.
“No app comes close to the detail we put into Trophy Score. The custom keypad with a dedicated 1/8 key for handling fractions, the ability to add a photo and syncing to the Anchorpoint Trophy Room are key differentiators,” said Hunnicutt.
