Trophy Score Adds Gross Scoring
September 23rd, 2010The highly rated Trophy Score big game scoring application for the iPhone has an update pending in the iTunes Store with a bunch of new features, most highly anticipated being gross scoring for deer.
“It’s something our customers have asked for since Day 1 and we appreciate their patience. Trophy Score built a reputation on being the most refined scoring app for the iPhone and is the only one approved by both SCI and Boone & Crockett so we wanted to do gross scoring right. I believe we did,” said developer Chip Hunnicutt.
Because Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young recognize only the net score for world records, it was important to not simply swap out net for gross, but to include both scores. Not only are both scores calculated, but both are synced to AnchorpointOutdoors.com, home of the world’s only no-minimum record book for big game. Trophy Score users visit the site and register a free account, plug the credentials into the Trophy Score settings and each trophy is added to the record book upon synchronizing.
Game Farms and Breeders
“Another voice we heard was that of game farms and breeders who love Trophy Score and wanted to be able to add their own detail like Farm or Breeder Name, Buck Age and Captivity Type. We did that and more,” explained Hunnicutt. Every species has an optional breeder section and these details are synced to AnchorpointOutdoors.com where they become searchable through a dedicated Game Farm & Breeders section of the record book. Hunnicutt is particularly excited about this feature, “For breeders, Trophy Score and Anchorpoint are now the only tool they need for scoring and publishing their herd.”
Trophy Score is now optimized for iOS4 and the Retina Display. Support for iAds has been added, making it possible to reduce the price of the app from $2.99 to $0.99.
Submitted on September 23, look for it to become available in the next few days.

I purchased the app and found it does not score some scores correctly. I left a review for the mule deer I scored, I also tested it on a typical whitetail with one abnormal point. It scored the net score correctly, but the gross score failed to include the length of the typical point in the final gross score. If this app scored correctly it would be a great app, but you need to fix the scoring calculator.
