Offering some of the most experienced and knowledgeable ProStaffers in hunting, HuntingLife.com has built a well-deserved reputation as a go-to source for those looking for answers, recommendations, opinions and direction in the sport. The resources on their own are a huge benefit and the weather map they rolled out last month will come in especially handy when planning your next adventure.
The strength of the site is in the blog where the ProStaffers put their collective knowledge to work on product reviews and issues affecting the sport. HuntingLife.com “is designed to help serious hunters learn about conservation resources and how to hunt big game with quality outfitters,” a mission it fulfills with every post.
Because of his site’s stellar reputation, we were excited when HuntingLife.com Founder and CEO Kevin Paulson agreed to take a look at Trophy Score. So what does the lead HuntingLife.com ProStaffer think of the app? ”Trophy Score is one of the great (iPhone) tools built for the hunter in mind.”
When I went looking for an app to score deer with I was pleasantly surprised to find three options available. Trophy Score caught my eye because it is sanctioned by SCI. It wasn’t till later that I really got into its capability for saving to the AnchorPoint database, which is now my favorite feature.
Honestly, I can’t rightfully draw a comparison to the other scoring apps because I never bothered with them. I’m no programmer, but when I noticed the size of Trophy Score at 15.7MB versus 0.6MB and 0.4MB, I just felt Trophy Score was far more likely to have more features I would find useful. I was not disappointed.
Trophy Score seems pretty polished. The calculator eliminates the need for fraction-to-decimal conversions, for example, which is a very nice touch. Again, I still have much to explore with the AnchorPoint database and I haven’t bothered with the lightweights, but Trophy Score has everything I was looking for and much more. I strongly recommend it!

With turkey season right around the corner, be sure to grab yours and get your gobblers in the Anchorpoint Trophy Room. With four different species of turkey available, no matter where you’re hunting Trophy Score has you covered.
After an article appeared in the Wilmington Business Journal, local news WECT called about featuring it on their evening news. I was already on the road to the Southeastern Wildlife Expo in Charleston, South Carolina so if they could wait until the following week, I’ll let them have the scoop on Trophy Score Fishing. Being a beach town with a big fishing industry, it was a no-brainer.
As for the results, some quotes got chopped but all in all, it turned out well. “My best is pretty darn good” was preceded but “I’ll never get a world record but….”, to put it into context.
