Get To Know The Dashboard

February 25th, 2010

Dash

Whether you’re here because of Trophy Score, the Club Manager or Marketplace, the Anchorpoint Dashboard is your “anchorpoint” for the website – it all starts here.  Managing your profile and account, Marketplace listings, trophies, hunt clubs and access to the global forums are right here. Organized in a tidy – some may say nifty  - to make it easy to get where you’re going, so you can get back outside.

MyAccountOn the right side of your dashboard is your personal navigation. The top option covers your Account where you can edit your profile (including adding a mugshot) and your standard password maintenance.  This is also where you can add a listing to the Marketplace or edit something you’ve already posted for sale.  Pretty cool, huh? (Here’s what’s cool:  free text listings and photo listings are just five bucks – beat that eBay!)

See those little arrows to the right of My Account, My Trophies, My Clubs, and Global Forums? Clicking one will open that menu while collapse the currently open one (we told you it was nifty). We’ll get into each of these other menus in upcoming posts.

What about that big dashboard image at the top of this post? If you are in a hunt club, that’s where your club news & events appear.  Everything is all one page, right after you log in (taste the niftyness!) Your Club Manager added a work day? Let him know you’ll be there, right from the dashboard.  Club dinner coming up and they need a head count? Because Anchorpoint has the ability to handle reservations, you can reserve a couple spots for you, the wife, and kids. In more than one club? All your news, for each club, is right here.

Why did we put this much detail into a club manager? The more you’re on top of things here, the quicker you can get back out there.

Appfreak Reviews Trophy Score….Sorta

February 22nd, 2010

“Measuring a dead animal? There’s an app for that.”

In what has to be one of the funniest iPhone app reviews I’ve ever seen, the Appfreak blog recently took on Trophy Score.

What we have here is a well-regarded application review blog operated by a London-based techie. Notice you didn’t see anything hunting related in that description.  That o.k. because good design is good design, despite local laws on the design subject and we appreciate Appfreak featuring Trophy Score.

Ameristep Chooses “Beyond the Blind”

February 18th, 2010

Ameristep

Here at Anchorpoint we’re always on the lookout for ways to help others in the hunting industry and earlier this month, Ameristep sought names for their new blog.  Ameristep is well-known in the outdoor space, offering several lines of blinds, tree stands, shelters, furniture and related gear for atv’s and hunting accessories.

Boiling all this down to one name was tough so I ultimately submitted these names via Twitter:

  • StepSpeak
  • Undercover
  • Under Cover
  • Out of the Blind
  • Beyond the Blind
  • Out in the Open

Earlier this week Ameristep chose “Beyond the Blind” as the name for their upcoming blog and I’m looking forward to my new hat.  Maybe they’ll want to put an ad on Anchorpoint?
